FixFade
Photo restoration

Sixty years of fading, undone in a minute.

FixFade mends the tears, lifts the stains, and brings back the color time stole — while you watch. Even a phone photo of the print in your hand will do.

What time does

Paper forgets. We remind it.

Every damaged photo fails in its own way. FixFade reads the damage first — then mends only what’s broken, and keeps every face exactly as it was.

Creases & tears
Mended along the original grain — not blurred away.
Silvering
Tones lifted back out of the mirror shine.
Water stains
Stains drawn out until the paper goes quiet.
Color fade
Kodachrome warmth brought back from pink.
A 1930s portrait of a young woman, torn across the middle and repaired with yellowed tape
As received — torn & taped
The same 1930s portrait, whole again — the tear gone, tones even
As returned — grandma at nineteen
How it works

From shoebox to shareable.

  1. Send any version of it

    JPG · PNG · HEIC

A flatbed scan is ideal, but a straight-on phone photo of the print in your hand works too — we square it up and read the damage.

  2. Watch the mending

    ~60 seconds

The restoration theater narrates as it works — tear rejoined, stain lifted, color returned. Most photos take about a minute.

  3. Take it home

    Full resolution

Download in high resolution, share it to the family chat, or send it back with a note if anything looks off — we'll run it again.

FixFade Animate

Watch them breathe again.

Some photos want one more moment. Animate adds a small, respectful motion to a restored portrait — a breath, a blink, the beginning of a smile. Nothing showy. Just them.

After the restore

Almost right? Say so.

A restoration isn’t finished until it looks the way you remember it. Two things help it get there.

HD Enhance

Print-ready detail

Take a finished restore up to crisp print resolution — sharp enough for a frame on the mantel, big enough for the wall above it.

Tell us what’s off in plain words — “her cardigan was blue, not grey” — and we run it again until it’s her.

From the families

The photos went home.

I did 43 photos from my grandparents' wedding album for their 70th anniversary. My grandmother sat with the prints for an hour and named every single guest.

The only picture of my dad as a boy spent fifty years folded in a wallet. When the crease came out of his face, I just sat there for a while.

Mine was a phone photo of a print taped inside my aunt's kitchen cabinet. It still worked. The family group chat went quiet, and then it went very loud.

Honest questions

Asked before the upload.

The things people want to know before they trust us with the shoebox.

Yes — that’s the whole job. FixFade repairs what’s damaged and leaves what isn’t. Faces aren’t replaced or reimagined; the person in the print is the person you get back. And if anything drifts, tell us what’s off and we’ll run it again.
If part of the photo is truly gone — a face torn away, half the print missing — we won’t invent it. We mend from what survives. Heavy damage usually still improves dramatically, and your first restores are free, so you can see for yourself before spending anything.
They stay yours and they stay private. We never use your photos to train anything, never publish them, and you can delete them whenever you like. Your original file is never altered — every restore is a brand-new copy.
A scan if you have one, or a straight-on phone photo of the print in good, even light. JPG, PNG, or HEIC up to 25 MB.
About a minute per photo. Animate loops take a little longer — long enough to put the kettle on, not long enough to drink the tea.
